Some 1.6 billion Muslims around the world today begin celebrating the Holy Month of Ramadan.
It is an obligation on every adult and healthy Muslim to fast -- abstain
from eating, drinking and sexual relations from dawn to dusk. But it is also a
spiritual journey to avoid immoral behavior, anger and show compassion.
The month of Ramadan is the month in which the Holy Quran was gradually
revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUP) over a period of 23 years.
Allah's Apostle said,
"When the month of Ramadan starts, the gates of Paradise are
opened and the gates of Hell are closed and the devils are chained."

The Prophet also said, “Whoever fasted the month of
Ramadan
out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his past sins will be
forgiven, and whoever stood for the prayers in the night of Qadr out of sincere Faith
and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven.”
